For Teachers & Parents
These are resources for teachers, parents and other adults to use with their students. Founded & Forward is intended for teens and adults. It is not designed for or directed to young children.
Everything is free to read, with no account needed. Our articles use plain language, and every quote links to the original document.
Ideas for using the site with students
- Read a primary source side by side. Start with the Declaration in Plain English, then open the National Archives transcript next to it.
- Run a quote check. Pick a popular "founder quote" online and have students try to find it in Founders Online. (See Quote Check.)
- Discuss a question. Choose an article from Your Questions. Ask: What's the strongest argument on the other side? What does the data show?
